Mr. Tibbott holds a B.S.E.E. from the University of California, Berkeley. He has repeatedly been at the forefront of technology: GRiD Computer (first laptops), Macintosh, Newton (pen-based computing), Classifieds2000 (the Web's first large classifieds site), LivePlanet (Hollywood meets Silicon Valley), and now pervasive Web-based computing. Mr. Tibbott designed Classifieds2000, which grew to immense popularity leading to its purchase by Excite. He was CTO at LivePlanet, where he designed sites supporting tens of millions of users in conjunction with film and television.
